Benchtop Labs

I was first introduced to the modern computer in the early 90's.  All it took for me was one look and I was hooked.  I spent the next few years breaking and fixing it while performing countless upgrades everytime I could persuade my parents to spend more money.  By 1997, I decided I wanted to do this as my career.  I dreamed up multiple names for a company and eventually settled on "Benchtop Labs" as I was working from a bench in my parent's garage.  In 1998, I registered a business license and began walking door-to-door downtown, talking to every business I could find about joining this new Information Superhighway.  I created websites, signed people up to sell on eBay, built custom PC's to order and taught computer literacy classes while attending University majoring in Computer Science and Engineering Technology.
Over the next few years I transitioned into a dedicated consulting engagement for a major client, eventually moving into an internal staff position.

While Benchtop Labs is no longer a licensed business, I would like to believe I have maintained and grown that original passion for technology and learning new things.
